Musculoskeletal & Sports Ultrasound

How long does the appointment take?
A sports or musculoskeletal ultrasound appointment at United Radiology usually takes around 20–30 minutes, depending on the area being examined.
You may be asked to arrive a little earlier for registration, and patients can resume normal activities immediately following their scan.
Post ultrasound care
There is no post-scan care required after a musculoskeletal ultrasound. You can generally return to your usual activities straight away unless your referring doctor advises otherwise. Your results are reviewed by a radiologist and sent to your referring practitioner, who will discuss them with you.
Is a Musculoskeletal & Sports Ultrasound bulk-billed?
Yes Musculoskeletal & Sports Ultrasound are bulk-billed for patients with a valid Medicare card and referral.
